I woke and found my blessing in this morning that had come
The air felt new and vibrant, for my night had brought the sun
It shone upon my wanting soul and gave me light to see
That God is all around, all time, with inner love to free

This world is full of grieving, full of wrongs that plague its land
And though I am but miniscule, I offer now my hand
To link a chain of people with one common goal in sight
For peace and ever friendship through the Holy words of right

Today I smiled at someone and they smiled on back at me
With just that simple action, something warm inside was free
And I was taken captive by the feeling it did give
Today I feel much kinder with an insight to forgive

A faith it lay within me; which had slowly come to show
This gift of my believing, such as everyone should know
It’s come to be my freedom, my extension that does speak
Each action now I take in life, my strength when I am weak

Today I found a vision, which remains here in my mind
Of joy and human kindness, which I once could never find
It’s blessed me with acceptance, with a drive I never knew
It’s given me a peace on earth and better work to do

Once lost, I’m now contented as I’m guided by God’s hand
He’s taken all my questions and has made me understand
He’s filled my void of wanting, giving guidance and reprieve
He's blessed all of humanity; by just letting us believe

Oh Rick...you are so right...it is in the blessings we give...it is the part of us we give away...that is how we receive our true blessings. Simple as a stranger's smile...a kiss upon a child's cheek, or an "I'm sorry."

Loved this,
Patricia

Hello Rick

I am absolutely amazed that there are so few comments on this marvellous piece of writing so I am putting it back where it belongs, on the top!  The warmth within your soul radiates through your beautiful words.
