“OUT ON THE CAPE”
by

I chased her all the way round one night,
around the, hehehe, lighthouse of passions,
ran like a streak of lightening she did,
for at least five miles, by my calculations…

Sand played scratchies among all of my toes,
I yelled to her ‘your Nan Ness, it’s just me,’
that melodious, strumming, loving guitar player,
your sweetie pie romantic poet named BC…

Perhaps Nan Ness forgot, but tonight was hers,
was her birthday, a new year ahead to reshape,
all BC really wanted was a little smootchie pie,
by the, hehehe, lighthouse out on the Cape

Bill,

You are such a little devil!

All that sophisticated romance you write,  Here you are chasing Nan Ness in the night.
Oh really, just a smoochie you wanna steal?
Hope she doesn't hit you with her high heel.

I would tell you to behave...but that is no fun!

Love this one, BC,

Patricia

Bill...This is just delightful!! I can see you now giving chase for a smooch. I agree with the others...Nan is going to love this. When you speak of the Cape, do you speak of Cape Cod? You're in my neck of the woods, if it is. I would love to drive up and catch you in pursuit!!!!! LOL ***Ivy Rose

Round and round and round I went
A lap for every year
The beacon spun for this event
As foghorns tolled the ears

Five miles hence down to Wood's Hole
The lighthouse showed the way
I thought that I was on a roll
Outrunning that birthday

But right behind was BCI
This road race suited him
He said he had a smootchie-pie
Well wishes were his whim…

Thank you for the sweet verse, BCI
This is such a fun way to spend "getting old," eh?

A very big smile - My Grammie would be turning 100 in just a couple of weeks... She almost made it (two months short) - I'll consider that centenarian well wish for her - Thank you on her behalf...

Please do consider it a centarian birthday well wish for your grandmother.

Uncanny, wasn't it?

She was so close to reaching her 100th birthday. Somehow I know, that in some manner she will still be there to celebrate it with you.

Loving hugs and birthday wishes to you both.

Linda
