This is just one of those silly poems...

Stay outta my way
This I must convey
It seems this woman's curse
This inconvience
Lasts more than four days
I get grouchy
Like a troll under the bridge
Ready to pounce
On any on coming billy goats
My head always in a tizzy
My thoughts all dizzy
I might say something
But I doubt I'll regret it later
What do you think
Now of your Princess
You stuck high on that
Pedastool!?
You stuck me up there so high
Like a china doll
For all to see
That I started to get a nose bleed
Sorry sweetheart
When the next month comes rolling around
Trust me
If you cross that fine line
You'd be the first to know
I'll crawl down from the stool
And knock some sense into you
Most definately
I will teach you
Something Seasme Street hasn't
And that's how to listen
When asked to take out the trash
Instead of always sitting on your ...

If at first you don't succeed destroy all the evidence that you tried.

(I was immediately attracted to this, because it's always the poems I write that I deem as "silly" that seems to get the most response. I think it has something to do with striking some kind of commonality in people, and boy oh boy you succeeded here. grin.)

And yes, I can commiserate (sparing details of course ) but there was a line that made me recall something.

"This inconvience
Lasts more than a four days"

Heh. It's not as bad as you think. I used to study voudoin  with a jewish "amah", and she told me that in tribal society, some still existing to this day, that a woman would be temporarily exiled for the duration of her menses. I immediately said, "wise move." But it seems there are instances in the history of established religions for this same practice--but not for the reasons of just "sending a shrew" away. It seems that shaman would consider the woman, already intuitive, would be at the height of her "power to project" during this time of heightened emotion. She supported this same with co-relating customs from many religions.
And personally, I know in some Wiccan theology, that a witch in her menses during esbat (celebration of the full moon) is given position of honor for the rites, sometimes even replacing high priestess.

Um. I just thought you might find that interesting...heh, I DO get carried away sometimes. Must be hormones, eh?

Ceinwyn,
Ha ha, I loved this poem. If its a bit silly, I don't think that takes away from it at all, it actually adds to it I think Hmmm I know what its like to put someone on a pedestal and have that person come down and knock me on my ass. But I never learn, some people in this world are so great, they deserve to be on a pedestal. They are just on a higher plane than me, you know?

I really enjoyed this poem!

Cute, but trust me, not only does it get worse but the heat lasts a long long time.

Keep sitting pretty on your pedestal, it's good to be queen!

(smiles) Yes, stay right up there on that pedestal, for you can be still without being a china doll, you come to your senses so well and I certainly hope this person can finally too or this person will only get more anvils falling along the way! (big hugggsssssss) God Bless You, sweet friend, the nonsense is what makes the finest poetry, kudos to you, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Kristen, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

You wouldn't happen to be my ex-wife would you??? lol
This is a great write, and one that brought a smile to my face, and to the girl I just showed it to.
Great Job.

Day after day I'm more confused,
So I look for the light through the pouring rain...
