Color my world about eight shades of green,
Crayola, schmayola!(if you know what I mean!)
'twixt the passion for painting and writing I'm torn
but can't find a rhyme for the color of orange!

True blue I've discovered is hard to describe
burnt umbrance is shading this fools' diatribe.
I may wax poetic of red sky at morn,
but, what kind of lunatic rhymes words with orange?

I see words like fuschia and can't help but think,
would purple confuse ya if blended with pink?
I'm ruing the hue of the day I was born,
can one overdue his obsession with orange?

Where gray is a mixture of white and of black
the past paints a picture I miss for a fact,
of turquoise petunias twixt fields of corn
'neath marigold skies that the sun's painted orange.

And so I continue my search for this rhyme.
My palette's half empty (of reason), it's time
for a stroke of genius, but, I am forlorn
for try as I might ,I just can't rhyme with orange!

Great fun read! You've taken the poet's dreaded word and painted a delightful  picture. Enjoyed!

Till oceans cease to flow and deserts lose their sands, may beauty surround you every day and wealth be in your hands.

DoctorQuack-Me-Up~

I was going to say that you tickle me pink,
but what a horrible clash that would be~
Continue your search for an orange rhymer
this poetic exercise is just a primer~

This is cute. And I've been racking my feeble brain trying to think of the one that PdV wrote on this too--geez...I'm fried today, doc. (How about a shot of b12?)

You never fail to make me smile m'friend.
