Freed from Restraints

I have awakened from emotions,
those that tie you up in knots
and drown you in soul searching,
only to leave you lost in a world
of yesterdays.

I don't remember the last tears I cried,
but still feel the dampness
that has been raining, tapping for days,
cursing my sleep until I wake
clinging to sheets, wondering
what thoughts pored out of me.

I watch behind closed eyes,
dreaming of neverhads and long overdues.
I step inside myself pushing the limits of thought,
watching for an opening, a margin of error
to slip through and stake out
my territory, freed from restraint.

It is a measure of degree,
an exposure of the extreme, that has led me
to reach further and not surrender
to the face in the mirror, but use the timing
of the tapping, the reigning of my soul
until happiness is mine.

A wonderful write dear M. Yes the soul knows the way to happiness .... let go of restlessness and past and open to the flow of new energy of love ...

This is a good combination of sadness and, at the same time, strength and optimism...it ends well...hope you do, too!

Maureen, a very heart-felt write. I could feel it.
Especially this ending......

It is a measure of degree,
an exposure of the extreme, that has led me
to reach further and not surrender
to the face in the mirror, but use the timing
of the tapping, the reigning of my soul
until happiness is mine.

Hugs to you, Lady

Margherita, I actually am pretty happy. Ask anyone who sees me in person.

It's just hard getting use to being alone here.

Dixie, I  try my best

Balladeer, I will always end up on top. This slight in my life will be the only one. If I can have as nice a life as I had the first 29-30 years of marriage, I will be smiling till the end.

serenity blaze, hey you...I probably  should learn to surrender...at least for some things

Thank you Ethel
hugs back
M

Julie, I am a cancer, so my emotions can  change very easily *s Thank you for reading.
