externally oblivious
to the cue cards and warning signs
internally ambiguous
to the splints of light shooting through
there are four numbers on my mind
and I cant find the time
to forget about any of them
tried sticking a magnet near my head
but it didn’t help me any

I tend to the plants
and other soothing remedies…
what I find to be all too common
in the trappings of love
and its shadily disguised cohorts
is the uncommon denominator
the varying symptoms
that all result in the same cancer
I have no answer
for one last time
soon I’ll put myself in a place
where the dialog is limited
and the satisfaction
(while short lived)
is well bred and easily digested
that familiar track that wore me smooth
for so long, long ago
is just around the bend
past the telephone poles and responsibilities
that I tried to claim
in my role as the honest man

a return to the lower tier
where I am always
well received

I envy your ability to word the truth so well that I can find my own self there.  You are honest and you don't deny.   "a return to the lower tier where I am always well received" ...I know this place...
