the dead and the dying lie crying on the floor their hopes and their wishes shattered and torn but what can i do what can i say the world just keeps on turning spinning around i'm trying my best can you really look me in the eye and see a spark somewhere don't you see the scars look at me please YOU MAY NEVER UNDERSTAND but, shh, LISTEN TO THE SILENCE THE WORDS I CANNOT SAY i've fought my battles lost my wars just like everyone else yes, just like everyone else i know the air is filled with desperate pleas and mine is so hard to find i've cried for my sins cried for you cried for me cried for us but here i am begging on my knees look me in the eye and do you see all the world's pain? the dead and the dying with shattered hopes and broken dreams looking to us for their strength never leave the light on if you don't want to be found |
