A Good Boy

There's truth in the obvious I'm seeing through the snow covered hills
With my frozen reflection without the sun behind my back
I'm eye to eye with solid faith that I'm forgotten
But, a perfect image to remind me what I lack...

Undying yet weakening courage hangs on for dear life
And, unsheltered clings tenaciously to an honest rage
So, I move on in this white land full of memories
And, sigh to the new road and the turning of the page...

I stroll ahead but always the urge to look behind
Sometimes a glance at what once was is all I need
But, the path becomes steeper on my journey to alone
And, I sure wish I had a good boy to miss me...

Nothing conscious about the footsteps I'm imbedding
Uncertain of where I'm going out in this place
Scary lights the darkness my heart is holding onto
And, I just close my eyes in fear and stretch the pace...

I never knew lonely like this until it spoke my name
And, until it's echo screamed from the evergreens
It's unmistakable sorrow that the sky produced
Thinking I sure wish I had a good boy to want me...

Nothing still about this moment here at all
Nothing soft about the grounds should I fall
Slight hesitation resides within the sweet breeze
And, I sure wish I had a good boy to love me...

damn this is a bittersweet beautiful write that hit me hard tonite.
Well done poetess Saunni, as always your rhymes are impressive.

I refuse to accept that mankind is so tragically bound to the starless midnight of racism & war that the daybreak of peace can never be reality.

"Nothing still about this moment here at all

...says it all.

Wonderful.  Thank you for sharing it.

(big huggssssssss) Oh Saunni, such wistfulness fills your words, I know this feeling as I long for a girl to love as I have never gotten to hold a girls hand or have a decent conversation with one! (sigh) I send angel hugs your way, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Saunni, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Underneath your clothes, there's an endless story
