again, Darkness
I have returned to thee
returned from the ways of Light
to be welcomed back into the
loving fold of thy arms

I, thy Chevalier
the keeper of truest Ebon flame
I have returned in a blaze
of coaldiamond flare
to dance again our Midnight gavotte
played and sung by the hooded minions
adepts of the secrets of Darkenss
revealers of the antisacred truths
seekers of the path less taken
knowers of the pain

I again take my place among them
and join in their chant of Albion moon
when stars try in vain to show what
must not be seen
to eyes that are not ready to know
I add my voice to theirs in parallel harmony
and our chant pierces the light with the shadow
that will always be a part of the sky

          Darkness ever, Darkness be
Pierce the light that none can see
             Darkness ever, Darkness mine
Our hearts of cold, now always thine

             Darkness ever, Darkness true
Hear us now under Albion moon
             Darkness ever, Darkness know
To us now, thy secrets show

             Darkness ever, Darkness be
I give all my heart to thee
             Darkness ever, Darkness mine
From this day, till end of time

the chant now done, my Darkness
I bid thee, come and take me close to thy heart
speak to me again the words of ever
and let me feel again the touch of thy hand
offering comfort to this weary soul
a soul that learned for thee the ways of Light
so that I might be thy one and thy all
the Seeker of Light
and
the Knower of Darkness
this, I am, and this I will always be
Darkness and Light forever in one
always for thee

thanks everyone. . . this one's been sitting in my notebook for a while now. . . reminds me of something that you would speak in Act V, Scene 1, which is done in total darkness. . .

I know, you're asking "Act V, Scene 1 of what Sven?"  to which my answer would be, "precisely". . .

Sven, you haven't been around a whole bunch
since I've been here. I sure am glad
that you are here more now, or I wouldn't
have been able to read this excellent poem.
It's the most beautiful thing I've ever
read with darkness as the theme.
Like this....

               Darkness ever, Darkness be
Pierce the light that none can see
             Darkness ever, Darkness mine
Our hearts of cold, now always thine

             Darkness ever, Darkness true
Hear us now under Albion moon
             Darkness ever, Darkness know
To us now, thy secrets show

             Darkness ever, Darkness be
I give all my heart to thee
             Darkness ever, Darkness mine
From this day, till end of time

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Sven, this is wonderful, dearest friend, I believe we should all get acquainted with the darkness but also not get absorbed in it, just make the black look more ebony! (sigh) God Bless You, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sven, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

This is amazing! I haven't seen anything like this concept before. The mood reminds me slightly of Macbeth, especially Lady Macbeth's soliquy and the witches. I'd love to write music for the chant.

Don't mind me. I'm just catching up on your work. I've been reading, but now this needs another round.

I love this...and I can just hear the voice with which it would be read out loud.

Sorry for not replying before.
