On they march for freedom,
row upon endless row,
guns glistening in desert sun,
but they march for peace.

Hear the roar of mighty jets,
invisible to the eye they bring hot death,
pretty bombs dancing in the sky
each fall brings glory to the cause.

Look as missiles do tidy work,
fired by soldiers safe from harm,
guiding their toys into waiting arms.
As they hit their mark we cheer along.

Feel the tremor of a million hearts,
as war wracks innocent and guilty alike.
Stare proud upon one more crater
where happy homes used to be.

Smell the stench of rotting corpses,
and rancid flesh of those still living,
men, women and children beyond hope.
Whisper in each ear that they are free.

500,000 children under 5 have died in Iraq since 1991 due to two wars and a US led UN embargo leading to massive starvation and disease. Two Hurrahs for American Freedom!!!

I believe some will find this very offensive. The truth is often offensive, I agree. Remember this is not a comment on anyone in our armed forces, people I support full. My father was a Vietnam veteran himself, winning a Siver Star and doing 3 and a half terms till his wrist was shattered because he was told it would insure "American Freedom".  This is an attack on those who shape American Foreign Policy.

And now I shall sit back and wait for the FBI to come along and haul me away LOL

Sometimes there are high prices to pay for freedom and for war...death being one of them.

Good observatin

War in itself is scary, sad, and horrible. But, I would hope that if my children were in a place such as Iraq someone would step in and try and make it better for them since I, myself, could not. I wish the best for everyone is all. But, I understand your thoughts and concerns. God Bless.
