Sky Tears

the sky is
crying stars
the tears
fall here, there

little spats
of light that break
go streaking
down the night's
enshadowed face

tumbling through
the surface
of an endless
depth of space

light drops
go dropping
without sound
and never touch
the ground

when sun comes
they'll be
falling still
a sadness we
will never see

sky tears
in daylight
falling
endlessly

I loved this! Nice job relating the stars to tears! I really enjoyed this line:
*when sun comes
they'll be
falling still
a sadness we
will never see

well done poet sir.

Guilty, JM....this little meteor shower did get in the way of our duet....as such things will...

I promise to be a good boy and write more as soon as my muse dries herself off a bit, changes into that terrycloth bathrobe I like so much....

There is so much we will never see, or allow others to come that close to where our tears fall.  For me, it only adds to my heartache.

  Sadly, the weeping in this.

There is definitely something magical about meteor showers. I have even wakened up my daughters in the middle of the night, driven out into the countryside--away from the light pollution of the burbs--for them to behold the splendor of a meteor shower. Wrapped in blankets and armed with binoculars and cameras, we truly enjoy the celestial display.
Your poem was absolutely delightful! Thank you!

Lovin' hugs,
EA
