Come To Me
5/20/03

Your smiles are no longer filled,
     with the bliss they once were.
Your eyes no longer hold,
     the bright soul they once did.
You try so hard to hide it,
     hide your pain from the world.
You pretend we don’t see it,
     but your sleeves can’t hide the scars.

Oh come to me,
     let me be your shelter.
Whisper your troubles upon my ear,
     cry your tears upon my shoulder.
Please come to me,
     take refuge in my care.
Find sanction from my arms,
     let me shield your wounds.
For no one deserves to be alone,
     in this cruel world of ours.

How I long to see,
     your eyes rid of tears.
How I wish to see,
     your face free of sorrow.
Your arms tire of the pain,
     of a life gone astray.
Your mind tires of being numb,
     from an emotionless existence.

So come to me,
     let me be your home.
Whisper your worries upon my ear,
     cry your heart upon my shoulder.
Do come to me,
     take haven in my love.
Find protection by my arms,
     let me guard your pains.
For no one deserves to be alone,
     in this horrid world of ours.
