A sparkling gem
in a long forgotton toy store window
draws little boy
with his bright red wagon
across mud and snow
across time and space
to view his glorius vison under glass
which existed before
only in his dreams
timelessly he gazes at this treasure
digging deeply into empty pockets
until he realizes that his dream
was just beyond his grasp
he starts to cry
but in the window's reflection
sees a puddle in the distance
sad face turns to smile
as he he sets off to find that puddle
and leave his dream here
for him to achieve
another day
sorrow is lost
in the eternal splashing
of some timeless puddle
and the smile
of a muddy little boy.

Bravoooo! This is great and touches the heart. Aren't the puddles so much more fun than any artificial toy you can buy?
You painted this "dream" beautifully.
Love, Margherita

This is what your poem reminded of...When children open that big box and take out the toy they so dreamed about only to find themselves having more fun with that big empty box.

Enjoyed.

Brad,

***jumping up and down in a puddle waving my arms***

Thank God for small blessings and simple pleasures.  The things we learn when we watch a child.
