standing on a shadow's lace

Un-laced

once a candle’s lit
the wax begins to run
flame to the wick
it can not be undone
it alters composition
the burn fills the air
once a fire has started
it changes what was there
your fire has betrayed me
this I do not understand
sweet moments broken
with the touch of your hand
you shared with another
the secrets held within
telling the melting of my heart
is now your biggest sin
I am not angry
just cut to the bone
I thought you had a tender heart
but it is just a bloody stone

of all the things about me
     behind all the locks
I may be just a candle
but the brightest one in the box

Beautiful. You never fail to inspire....and the truth of this one simply reverberates.
