After the storm has passed
and the sky becomes visible
dissipating into the darkness.

On a whim the sun moves farther south
seeming to tie the clouds together
lying down over the horizon.

I wish you were here, inside the rainbow
abosrbed in pastel shades
that sprinkle in the myst.

Wrapped around the dawn
cradled in a gentle hush
that keeps the night at bay.

Pulling back the sash
a blend of liquid pale tones
drapes the sky in golden glow.

Parting through the barriers
unfelt, and ever beautiful
than any clue I could give away.

For the days that come what may
sweeping through our dreams
will take their turns into the wind

and carry us along.

~*~

It's just a poem~I told you I was going to write something for you, because you're such a fun kind of guy and all.  Don't read into it Duncan....but if you need a translator then I'll have to see what I can do~

But please don't make me do it.
Somehow I don't think you're as blonde as me.

Lori...I'm not Duncan...but I thought this was lovely...and yes a bit romantic, so he just might read something sweet as you, into it.

Hi Martie~  Well he had me smiling and laughing yesterday when I wanted to cry!  Some people don't even realize when they are making a difference, and that is my point exactly, nothing more or less.

Thanks for your nice reply Martie~

LOL Lori, I can't wait to see what Duncan does read
into this beautifully romantic love poem. HaHa!!
You know him. He's going to think of something
to say with that green smiley face.
I know one thing, he's going to love it that
you took the time to write aomething for him.
That's so sweet and what friends are for.
Thanks for sharing thei beautifully written
poem with us.

Lori...it's a good thing...and I sort of knew that, so just was teasing you a bit, just for fun and maybe to bring another smile.

Nancy~ Well I don't know, he did say he was clueless, so he may not get it.  It's just my way of giving something back....I have to trust my instincts.  Wonder what color hair he has anyway!     Thanks so much sweet one~

Lori...Dunc takes blonde to new heights

and about that walk...Dunc..you were right the first time

This is a lovely poem Lori...both in its inspire and intent.

very cool imagery...well done!!
and now...Im off to find your last post, as Dunc told me I missed an ocean poem...and that just wont do

I refuse to accept that mankind is so tragically bound to the starless midnight of racism & war that the daybreak of peace can never be reality.

Thank you Jason, I sure do appreciate you.

Saunni~ So nice of you, thank you dear lady~
I'll keep you in my prayers.

Oh good, thanks for sharing your smile icebox~

JM~ Uh oh, about the blonde jokes.  I am not into new heights or big hair!!!!  Ok, funny thing is...this all started out with his reply to my beach poem when he said, wish I was there, after that the bantering took on a life of it's own.  Then, as I went back and re read this I noticed I left out a word when using that phrase.  I'm telling you, without that edit feature I might never save face.  Oh dang....I thank you so much for your lighthearted reply and all your kind words.

And again tonight, with this.  Thank you.
(BTW...I knew what you meant when you said I'd left myself wide open, just wanted to see if I could get you to say it.   )
