Confined to the kitchen, a woman’s place
where all the cupboards are often not bare.
With flour and sugar gone, not a trace
he stands and thinks in his manly despair.

Dishes were stacked from the floor to the roof
awaiting the washer to whirr them clean.
But alas, the monster broken, gone poof
and now the bubbles poured from the machine.

What soap had he used to prepare the wash
that would have caused this now horrid event?
The mop and bucket now surely would squash
before the landlord arrived for the rent.

To arms, to arms, to elbows and wet feet
the soapsuds did boil and roll for the door.
And as the squeegee attacked in retreat
he swore out loud of this mess on the floor.

His apron wet, a shower not needed
to take the dirt and grime from his rear.
The wife won the bet, surely succeeded
confined him to KP till the new year.

So when you see a manly bearded face
staring from the window with a big frown.
Just remember men, it’s not just their place,
so don that new apron and her nightgown.

If you want some more practice, I have some dishes here you can do. And, the floor needs to be mopped, too. This is such a funny poem.

Bump...
Magnus-
I concede that your humor captures the fancy of many, that your artistic abilities are unsurpassed...and that every woman on this site...wants to see a man in the kitchen...which is why I gave you the topic.
She bows humbly...snickering...to the...a hemmm...master. TD
