Funny Cide has done it twice
and no one is laughing
at his name anymore.
First to cross the finish line
in two out of three,
but that doesn't really
surprise me,
as his name suggests,
humor wins
in the end.

*****
Funny Cide is a race horse, who has now won two out of the three horse races this year that put him into position to be a Triple Crown winner. and though I'm not a true racing fan, for many reasons, I did enjoy hearing this horse's name twice called out in the winner's circle.
Way to go, Funny Cide!

It was a great race, and being from Maryland and Baltimore, I watched it with great interest. A terrific horse. I hope it wins the triple crown.

I'm right down the road from where the preakness is held. It was a big day here.
Thanks for the beautiful tribute.

I'm guessing that the Funny Cide will do better than the Far Side which is coming up on the outward lane.
Good write, very clever.

I’m with you Kacy,  I think that looking at the “funny cide” of something, even horse racing, is always the best way...

I can just hear it now at Churchill Downs...

Hello every one I’m Tim along with my partner Jim, here track side, out in the beautiful country side of Kentucky...

It will be just moments ...

And... There Off!
Out of the gate comes Curb Side with an early lead...

Moving up is Ring Side, followed closely behind by  Sea Side...

And here comes Road Side, right up along side...

But wait! Here comes Funny Cide up on their blind side...

It’s State Side and Sea Side...
Side by side...

And coming quickly up beside, is Funny Cide...

Top side of Funny side is Raymond Burr, of Ironside

Oh, what a ride!!

And here we are, along the far side...

Oh no! Curb Side got side swiped by Ring Side...

No Jim, that was a broad side...

Who care’s Tim? Horses are falling by the wayside...

Your getting sidetracked Jim!

Thanks Tim!

They’re coming up the backside...

It’s Funny Cide
Sea Side

Sea Side
Funny Cide

Funny Ride
Sea Slide

OoOps!

IT’S FUNNY SLIDE, BY A NOSE!!!!!

Huh?!
Great poem Kacy!

lol

The funniest that I ever heard was the horse named "Hoof Hearted"

"Hoof Hearted on the inside!"

"Hoof Hearted by a nose!"

MidniteSun~
As a former thoroughbred owner, I enjoy each and every race.

Interestingly, Jose Santos rode several winners for me at Calder Race Course in Miami.  I was thrilled to see him aboard Funny Cide !

Great poem, gal~

Kacy, thanks for giving our Richy a chance to show off his mic-ability!  This was so cute, both the poem, and the resulting comments!  Thanks for the grins!

Hi Kacy

I love this......your poem, the horses name,
Richy's response...as well as the others...
looking at the "funny side" of things( though hard to
find sometimes...I'm always looking for them).
Thank you very much for this. I need it today.
Hugs and smiles,
Ethel

When all the hoopla erupted after the Derby, I told my boss that the best possible ending would be for that lil hoss to leave the field in his dust at the Preakness... so you can just imagine how I was cheering for him Saturday as he did just that! LOL

Love the poem, love the comments... and his name! *G*

I'm laughing so hard at Richy's and wranx replies, I just spilled my coffee!
Richy, you should post it as a separate funny piece!

(smiles) And that's the humour of it! (sigh) I remember just last week watching ESPN late at night after watching the Mighty Ducks dominate the West in the NHL and on Sportscenter seeing Jose Santos and all the controversy surrounding him that in a photograph he may have been holding a tool shocking the horse to force it to run faster. Well, when you run at Pilmico by 9 1/2 lengths, the second-largest distance ahead in the sport's 128-year history, there is no laughing there! (big hugggsssssss) This is wonderful, sweet friend, I started getting weary of the name War Emblem, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Kacy, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton
