From Webshots

~~**~~
I have a little garden
my plants are just a few
The vegetables taste much better
when planted by me or you

Even though I did not plant it
my friend did that for me
He has a real green thumb
growing veggies for us to see

They look so cute growing
with blooms on the plants
Have to watch out for the bugs
especially the ants

Hanging on the plants
the tomatoes are now green
And little tiny cucumbers
are the cutest ever seen

I love my little garden
every day I look at it
Waiting patiently for the vegetables
upon my plate to sit
~~**~~

.
.
.
Thank you, Gary's Dad, for planting my little garden

Ethel...nothing tastes as good as veggies fresh picked from your own garden...such a blessing it is, just to watch them grow.

(smiles) It ALWAYS has to be organic for me, sweet friend, we have a big garden in our backyard and grow many fruits and vegetables and go to many local farmers markets, and in the winter when there is nothing to grow, we go to Wild Oats all the time and get our products there! (kiss on cheek) Yay, may all your wonderful dinners with your dinner be fresh, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ethel, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Martie,
that's the truth. Especially cucumbers and tomatoes.
Have you ever eaten a cucumber sandwich? It's delicious!!
Oh yeah, I love to watch the plants grow, too.

Rita,
I know you will be. How you can eat such hot
peppers I will never know. HaHa!! You know I got
my first little cucumbers today from it. I'll be
glad when the tomatoes get ripe. Oh, Mama
told me today that ya'll are going to give her
some eggplants when they are ready. She's anxious
for them. Gary and I thank ya'll for doing that.
.
.
Vandana,
thank you so much. I'm really glad
that you enjoyed reading it.
.
.
Thank you both so much. I appreciate ya'll.
Heart hugs to ya'll,
Ethel

isn't that the truth?
They seem so much better from
our own garden. Don't they?
Thank you, friend.

Kethry,
Thank you very much. That is
so sweet of you to say.
.

Noah,
I love my vegetables. I could

vegetables all the time. Yeah, we
like to go to Farmer's Markets, too.
Fresh vegetables are so good!!
Thanks.

thank you all for being my friends.

Yes Ethel, this reminds me of the times when I had a big ol’ garden. It’s funny how much grows from such little plantings or seeds. I went and bought so many plants...lol... I didn’t know how big they would get. I had like 18 tomato plants, and about the same number of peppers. Plus a few rows of corn, and we had carrots, radishes, string beans, strawberries, egg plants, bell peppers, cucumbers, lettuce and oh, the zuchini and pumpkins...lol... and this was all in a pretty small backyard at the time...

My neighbors would draw their blinds when they saw me coming over with boxes of three foot long zucchini's... lol

Oh gosh!...lol... it was so much fun though...

The absolute best, was the tomatoes... these certain Champion kind and the Sweet 100 cherry tomatoes... I had never tasted tomatoes that sweet before in my life... and never have since...

I sure miss being in the sun driving that pick into the ground... talk about releasing some tension... it was very therapeutic...

Wonderful poem Ethel!

Thanks for the memories!

Richy

Sue, I'm sorry that it was bittersweet, but glad that it brought back some good memories to you.
.
.
Nan, oh-oh....I didn't think about the little critters stealing the veggies. They will, though. Sorry, Ron!!
That reminds me of some people I know. A few years ago some of the people at Church decided to raise rabbits to eat. This one couple (like me and my late husband were) saw that they couldn't eat the cute little things after raising them, so the guy took them out to the woods behind their house and let them go free. Later that year he planted some greens in a garden. He started noticing that something was getting into his garden eating his greens. So, he started watching it to see what it was. Yep, his rabbits were coming back to eat the greens. I guess they thought they were planted for them to eat. LOL
.
.
Richey, I know what you mean. My late husband used to say he was going to plant a little garden every year, so he would plow up a place with his tiller in the back yard, leaving a space between the rows. We would always say we were going to plant just a few things. He would end up planting so much that he would use the space between the rows where we were supposed to walk to gather the vegetables. He would tell me to let him pick them because I might step on his plants. He would grow things that we didn't even like and give them away. He just liked to watch them grow. LOL
.
.
Thank you all for the nice replies. I really appreciate the smiles you've brought to me today.
Hugs to you all,
Ethel
