In Good Hands

I have placed my heart in good hands.
His softness of hold, soothes the ache of the past,
warms the chill it once felt
and charges my happiness, once more.

As the dark settles in, he lights up my life
with his smiles and eyes me as a solid find,
a treasure, each day discovering another gem in me.

One by one I am lifted, the failing steps
behind me now, learning as we go,
laughing as we make new footprints together.

He tempers my soul with composure.
My heart has strengthened in resolve.
Its tempo an even blend, kneaded by his looks,
from blue eyes that risk focusing on mine.

Invigorated by each touch,
I am in good hands...

M

Maureen, I think this is my favorite of all your poems.
I know I've probably said that before and will most
likely say it again.  LOL   But the message in this
is beautiful.
Besides I know exactly how this feels, too.

(and I love the new photo, too)

Thank you, Ethel..I am sorry I haven't been responding much but I have a lot on my plate right now. Been learning to drive a pick-up truck ( someone elses) and I think I may just want one for myself

Maureen:

is nice to see you shining like you are meant to shine . . .

I see your smile here . . .

and as for pick-ups - yep . . .
you will never want to drive in a car again
good for you
and this is just what I needed

To the point of trust...how wonderful.  And he sees you and the gems you offer.  I should say you are in good hands.

This is beautiful.

Nakedthoughts, this is really good, especially this second verse...

I hope your happiness continues!

The best of wishes to you,

Richy
