Two Rocks

I went for a stroll in the woods and found two
rocks.
side by side, they silently laid.
Yet, those two rocks spoke volumes to me today.

One was ashen gray, dulled, and forged by volanic
clay.
The other was brillant, with pristine salt like
crystals, as in the woods, side by side, they silently laid.

As an observer, in those woods, of course I had to
disturb their peaceful slumber.
On Picking them up, I examined them much closer.
My mind was so clouded but miraculously became uncumbered.

Odd, it struck me, that those two rocks, side by
side, had so silently laid.
As if ordained to remain so paired and unfortunately grave.

I could not bare to look at them anymore.
As I cursed my melancholy paradox which allowed
one to enter into my well guarded chamber's
door.

I opened my hand, slowly, and the tears, like the
rain, poured down.
For one closer than a friend, a dark kindred
soul, I have now found.
Returning the two rocks, I revered their
once undisturbed hallowed place on the ground.

Sadly, I walked away,
leaving them behind in the woods where they had always together silently laid.  Their brief message tugged at my icy heart, reminding me, what he has
truely gave.

Your sentiments are surely metaphorically expressed here, Gina -

Isn't it marvellous the things nature can teach us about ourselves? I enjoyed your poem.
