The New Me

I posted a new picture
a new outlook want to be
and just like all the rest of life
it faded back to me.

The old one, too naive, too true
whose fantasy has died.
I posted a new picture
one of me, less to be tried.

I know I took it yesterday
when in a mood of new,
and even several must have seen
'cause they gave it their review.

I looked this morn and I was there,
refreshed and feeling pink.
But when the hours passed again
the old me stole the link.

I change so much from week to week
depending on my feel.
But honestly I posted me,
the new me in the real.

M

TD, really, I am seeing the old picture and I had uploaded a new one, that was there at least for a few hours...maybe it scared someone too much. I have no idea where I disappeared to.

But thank you, your kind words awakened a smile in me today.

Wonderful piece. The old and the New mesh together into the now. Hopefully the now is a beautiful combination of both.

Hi Julie, thank you for reading. This was  just a silly poem, wondering where my new picture uploaded had disappeared to. But I see I returned in the new

Thank you Bernie,
I hope you are doing well.

~ You may change from week to week, but one thing that hasn't changed is the fact that you are still a pretty lady.

Your pic--I like!

What I really enjoy most about you and your writing is that both are real! God knows,  there are just too many mirrors with shallow reflections out there! You are authentic and you laugh and you cry and you feel--and you are talented!

Lovin' hugs,
Linda

Hey Marge, but that Florida humidity never let my hair look good... It was a struggle to not look like a frizz bomb down there
Thanks sweetie,

Linda, thank you. The other picture was about 2 years old already and I wasn't feeling so good about myself back then.
Well I am as real as real gets, and sometimes I wish I could hide my feelings in my words, but like in real, I am not good at  being "false" so I don't even try. (I can feel and look guilty even when I do nothing wrong)
Thank you for reading this silly poem. I only posted it because I didn't want those who read the other poem from yesterday, to think I put the old picture back up.

I appreciate your kind words.
hugs
Maureen

Maureen:

your picture is absolutely beautiful!
and I do know that feeling of hmmm . . .
I found me!  Just to have that old me
tapping on my shoulder saying ummm . .
here I am . . .

regardless . . . you look beautiful
inside and out

They don't matter. I've seen the real and your pics do not do you justice, no matter how good they are

Very nice poem,
Lovely new picture,
But as lovely as it is
It pales beside the beauty of the inner you.

Sven "the new me in the real"...thanks. I posted a new pic of me yesterday and when it showed and then disappeared, I was wondering...
And when I wonder, I always get myself into trouble.

littlewing, haaa...well if I ever find myself tapping on my shoulder I may have to seek some help
but I know what you mean.
Thank you for your kind words.

Dixie, of course you do...some day we shall have to meet.

Professor, the poem was an afterthought, the picture, a new me. And I thank you for the compliment. I always wondered if you noticed
the inner me.
