Greater Than Me

I am part of you
you are part of me
this is how
it will always be
the hue of a rainbow
is made up of many
when we stand alone
we are but a penny
but when we stand
together side by side
we are much to be proud of
and in this I take pride
shoulder to shoulder we stand
always stepping toward
duty and honor is
its own reward
today I stand before you part
of something greater than me
I am part of you
I am a deputy

Deputy Gonzales retires this month i wish to thank her for everything she taught me as well as countless others...you are part of me...helen

Hard to see someone go, and move on, but it is comforting that they were there in the first place, and will remain so.
