Evertouch

I can't escape remembering the warmth of touch,
the strength of body laying next to me.
All the firsts and looks from knowing eyes,
the mirrored image, once, that held each day to be.

I walk the gardens tendered past by love,
each flower bloomed a meaning, timeless hold.
The colors that perfume my senses still
are blending all the feelings, treasured gold.

Never will my life be quite the same,
never will a love be found as such.
I've hidden you, the rainbow of my past,
safe keeping memories in "evertouch".

I cross the road to capture what was us,
when times, we shared the wonder of it all.
That nature spreads its beauty in the now,
so I can hold the best in my recall.

No picture could perfect what these eyes see.
The view will ever mind the thoughts in me.

Thank you Q.
I was going to post a picture of my gardens but the site where I use to save them has changed their rules and have emptied all of mine.

Wrote a piece once, way back when, using the word "evertouch". Described it as "the feeling of never being alone"...and
I think one's garden is such a place...

loved the write...

jw, nice to see you. *s
I don't recall yours...for some reason I am in one of my somber, reflective moods.

I almost decided not to write anymore.
But then I was working in my gardens and yesterday, the burgundy Azaleas, and my Yellow Scottish Broom and the lilacs and my  periwinkle ground cover and snow mound were all blooming at the same time.

I crossed the street and took a picture, but it can't show what my eyes saw. I have tended that garden for almost 20 years and this year it bloomed beautifully.
Thank you for stopping by.
M

Hi Sue, thanks I decided it was time to take a new picture of me.

Bill, you know sometimes now, I can think of my past and be content that I made the most of it and did my best to have a good marriage. I feel better when I reflect on it that way.

Thank you James.

Hey Dixie, I was getting tired of the old me...I am trying to get back a few of my wasted years and prepare myself for tomorrow's new. I am about halfway there
