Re-living The Pages

Years ago Janie and I painted rainbows in the sky,
threw stars into the night,
taught angels how to fly,
then parted . . . went our separate ways.

Thinking of her today,
I smiled in a way that only lovers can
when memories shape their thoughts;
I wondered if she ever thought of me,
remembered the days we shared – the nights.

When one loves one never quite forgets
nor loses the feelings prevading the soul
when goodbyes are said – memory,
the personal diary of every life – remembers,
and re-living the pages Janie and I wrote in mine,
has made me young again, if only for a while.

Years ago Janie and I painted rainbows in the sky,
we blew bubbles at everyone we passed,
played in parks with little kids,
and in the way two people with one heart do, we held hands,
swirled our lives in a single slice of life,
then melded it all together in the deepening hours of night.

Years ago Janie came into my life,
and still . . . she lingers there.

Jimmy...it's good to see you!  Once you have loved someone, no matter where your paths go, the sweet times remains of the time you shared.  Beautiful, though sad.

jw, I know the feeling well. I hold onto memories and special moments and relive them daily.

Sometimes I wish they would fade, just long enough, for me to make some new memories.

jwesley...This is so beautiful, my friend. Your words just seem to float effortlessly across the page and reach down into the romantic part of us that relives the loves that are filed into memory's bank. ***Ivy Rose

ahhh those memories . . .
they love to haunt - dont they?
and sometimes we do need them . . .
this is lovely how you combined
throwing stars into the night
and teaching angels how to fly with love
