I know it's a little late. . . but, this one's for Lyra. . .

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
gather now
across the shore
a cantor of loon begin the song
a melismatic thread that weaves together
the stories and experiences of being
into a final tapestry of life
the colors that speak the phrases
red for anger
     blue for calm
          white for pure
               black for mourning
told in a language as old as time itself
the trees bow to hear
as the breeze takes up, in counterpoint,
the harmonies of other lives
                (those that remain
                       and those that have gone before)
showing them here in this skyed synagogue
                                    candled with stars
taking them in our hands
we begin to hear the song of her stars
the moon glimmers the lake with its shine
and we realize that while we mourn the loss of her body
we rejoice in the finding
                            of her being
I wrote this back when I first heard the news about Lyra. . . that's when the word. . ."Kaddish". . .came right to mind. . . I wrote it right then. . . I just haven't been able to post it. . .I'm glad to do so now. . .
thank you all again. . .
You, your heart, and your writing are all beautiful things, Sven.
I haven't been able to write anything about the losses we have had here at Passions.
This should be read. I'm sure a lot of people will appreciate it.
You could hurt me with your bare hands. You could hurt me using the sharp edge of what you say. JEWEL
