Loneliness

Loneliness has marred my view
Shadowed flowers of their true
Sprinkled wet to mold unkind
Shrouded fret upon my mind

Tinted gleams that once were green
Darkened dreams that were my preen
Turned the brilliance of my sky
To the gray of subtle lie

And I miss the sun of day
The light of spirit and the gay
The passing of the state of flux
My flights of wild with flying ducks

It is a feeling that I rue
It is the touch less touch of you
A vacant tongue without the taste
The phantoms wish that turns to waste

I would a brighter path to wend
I would the solitude to end.

Very  nice, Sy - Of course I know that you're not alone - so I can appreciate it even more for its pure poetic value...

A beautifully written piece Sy. Thankfully you have your beloved wife by your side.

Last week I spend the day at an assisted living complex for seniors. So many of them are truly lonely and alone. It broke my heart. But what joy to see their faces light up when I spoke to them and gave them a smile and a bit of conversation.

Hugs to you oh master poet.  Marti

On any given day, the mortal will experience this deep loneliness...
Well portrayed here. All warm wishes, TD

Seymour~
This line of thought -

'It is a feeling that I rue
It is the touch less touch of you'

is overwhelmingly poignant~

Lovely Wednesday morning greetings to you~

Mr. T., we all can have moments of loneliness--even in a crowded room or surrounded by friends and family. There are varying degrees of separation that we experience in life--and no one ever truly knows absolutely everything about us--no matter how close we may be to them.

You really are someone special, my dear sweet sonneteer!

Lots of lovin' hugs and angel kisses,
EA

Oh how I love the such of your poetic touchless touch ...
words wrapped in rhyme that have come to mean so much.
A bond that crosses over the distance of too many miles ...
a promise kept, replacing tears wept with sighs & smiles.

Loneliness wont fare when friends reach out in cadenced care ...
Quiet comfort we share ... I'm blessed in knowing you're there.
