I.
Winter's ice entombed the pond,
'til spring's arrival set it free.

II.
No one heard stream's current calling,
except perhaps a nearby tree.

III.
A catfish sat on river's bottom,
until a young boy yelled in glee.

IV.
Dropped mountain brook in headlong rush,
to distant womb of mother sea.

V.
Old man river's soul be dammed,
by a concrete devil, no where to flee.

but working well together.

Could we ask anything less
of one another?
