Beyond the ivy covered window
There is a glow of candlelight
She sprays his favourite perfume
While she anticipates the night

Pink and red geraniums
Adorn the window frame
There are footsteps on the path
And she hears him call her name

She has waited for this moment
But now she waits no more
She rushes to his arms
As he throws open the door

He pours the fine red wine
From the valley in the east
Such a night will promise passion
Upon their love they will feast

He is drawn towards her face
Such beauty beyond compare
Not a single word is spoken
And he cannot help but stare

Their faces glow in profile
By the flickering candlelight
And as love takes the reigns
Their hearts take wing in flight

* * *

"I only wish to be the fountain of love
from which you drink, every drop
promising eternal passion"

* * *

Hi Sue, I love the way you incorporated the objects from the picture, candle, flowers, etc., into the poem. It all felt so real, as if I was watching him walk up the path.

Great job. No one does romance like you.

(smiles) Awwwwwwwwww, I love this, sweet friend, the ivy would make a perfect setting for any beautiful romantic rendezvous, I would love to share a special date with my dream girl in a place like that! (kiss on cheek) Yay, this all makes such a gorgeous picture frame of a love memory ever so heavenly, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sue, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!
