The locket

Got an Angel in my pocket
Locked inside a locket
And in the back some of her hair
A pack that she could spare

A treasure I can look and touch
A little lover’s crutch
It is a piece of something real
My alter with a seal

Although her home is in my mind
It’s the locket I find
Whenever I am down and blue
And really missing you

Here I keep this fair of keepsake
This hair of wake and ache
And treasure it close to my heart
Where it will never part

A favors favor of my love
My guide unto the stars above

"an Angel in my pocket
Locked inside a locket"

What a sweet visual, Sy ... I love it, and I enjoyed the rhyme scheme here. Wonderful!

You must have a pretty big locket to hold all the angels you've likely got in there...

Tucked into his pocket's locket
is a part of all who hear
the angel inside his heart of hearts
that he holds so dear.

Excellent! Follow your angels into the sky... There's no better place to be.

Sweet spring morning hugs to you, Dear One!

Angels gather 'round you
Wherever you may go
They know you're one of them
For they see your spirit glow

~ May your vestments be full of pockets--and have an angel in each one of them!

Angel hugs & kisses,

I do love lockets for their old fashioned charm and especially because they will hold treasures, as you have stated in this poem.

Enjoyed.

The feelings are so real here. I think all of us have a few angels we'd like to keep in lockets the way you did... Just so that we could carry them around, and never feel lonesome.

So Randy is revved up and ready ... roaring to fly high ...
to whisk the moth and her Sy-guy off on a whim and wish of sky.
Where shall we go for our rhyme scheme dream of Eden's theme?
Is there a place you know ... a place your heart holds in esteem?

Shall we throw a dart at a map and fly on a dragon's dare ...
the destination matters not ... for I would follow you anywhere.

You treasure that locket as I treasure this poem.  I love lockets, always have since I was a little girl.  I am always fascinated with what is inside the heart of gold.  It seems your locket holds your heart...and, oh, what a beautiful treasure that is.

How lovely Seymour. I have a locket that belonged to my mother and I treasure it dearly. Sorry I am late yet again. This restoration of the house is taking longer than what we thought. Oh well, how about a nice butter tart or two? hugs, Chris

JM,
A dart could play a part, but it makes no differance to the art, of trying, sighing and flying. Winkiewinkie Stinky.

Jason,
Thank you my friend.

Angel in your pocket?
Take a closer look and see.
That is not an angel, Sy,
It’s that little devil me!
