This poem was written for those friends
and others who told me I think too
much.
I think I shall continue to think until
the day I can think no more...

Think

I shall think a benign notion.
Controversy just stirs the pot.
You gave me the magic potion:
You think I should think not.

Now my mind not so sublime.
Seems not a problem do I got.
Simple as a nursery rhyme:
I think I shall think not.

What’s become of us today?
Not one thinker can I spot
Of thought, they see my way:
They think they shall think not.

Did you think me better off?
Now ignorance is what you got.
At the thinker you did scoff.
I think you should think not.

Patricia - I'd rather a thinker be, than to think not...

lol
I'm always told I think too much, too. But then when I look at the lives of those who don't think, I realise that its us thinkers who are always fixing things and taking the jabs for those who never thought!!
love it!

Always, Alyssa

- And so it was that time stood still -

LOL...you just wrote me!

~*~

I'm a thinker and word tinker
sometimes I rhyme and others not
my mind it spins until I sink 'er
in a boiling, roiling huge stew pot.

Then I serve up simple thoughts I've stewed
with some bread and cheese for two
accompany it with a brew
just enough for me and you.

Oh those who think we think too much
I just with they'd take a dunk!
For it seems those thoughts that really touch
come from those who think, you'd thunk!

I think this is just wonderful Patricia! You'll find lots of thinker's here at Passions, for sure, and many who can relate to this piece ... myself included.

Very much enjoyed!

Best wishes,
/Kit

I can relate Patricia
I am often being told that too
but with an overactive mind
what more can I do

Patricia,
Wow! This is both clever and wise! A wonderful rebuttal to all the fools of the world who try to hold others down.

           Mike

P.S.- Sorry if I disappeared for a bit. My life got a bit out of control for a few days. But now its better. Like I've said before, I still breath and everything

Letting others do it for us, doesn't work, does it?  Grins...good for you.
May you never stop.

Enjoyed greatly,

Hugs and love, Pat

Patricia, I'm been told that all my life...but just being told not to think so much never has made me quit thinking. And, actually, I hope I nver do.
Hugs,
Ethel
