He Fancies Himself...

He fancies himself a thinker,
but refuses to hear her ideas.

He fancies himself a philosopher,
but refuses to discuss her logic.

He fancies himself a writer,
but refuses to read her poetry.

He fancies himself a lover,
but refuses to accept her affection.

A boulder of granite is he,
Mortared in rigidity,
Bedded in self philosophy.
I think that it be
Only he
Whom he does fancy.

Patricia...I agree 1000 percent on your
poem....excellently stated...and seeing
as how he never reads poetry...he surely
cannot reply in his defense.....Something
tells me he will lose!!!

Nice write!!

Oh Pat,

Laughing right out loud..you go, girl! Love this....keep writing it, it just gets better, were that possible.

Though  not a laughing matter when wedded (attached) to such, my heart goes out to you as you continue to cut the dead-ly ties that bind so tightly.
You are right, you know, in every line of this poem, you have captured many. Very well-written.

Heart hugs and love to you, Pat

Patricia,
A liked this poem a lot Good play of contradictory statements in your couplets here. I think you describe the ultimate fool here!
