is this the cup that I must
partake of Father?
filled with the last
bitter dregs of a stunted passion
that should have never seen the light of day
but a passion that I poured for myself
thinking that the taste of it would get
better with each successive sip
and wondering why my stomach wanted to retch
at the taste of it
full and acrid in that pit (not of despair)
of design

are these the spears that I must
endure Father?
the points of accusing eyes directed
at my heart and soul
flung over and over until I
am naught but remain
I turn to face the hurler of them
the one who seems to always find
the deepest marks
and find that I see (through the blood)
the same face

is this the walk that I must
proceed on Father?
through the virtual streets of this
still electric cityscape of names and faces
they take up the stones they have cast at themselves
and cast them at me
shouting the names of my supposed crimes
in voices that once spoke to me
as songs of the heart
one of them comes out to offer me
          some measure of comfort
          and still another bears the
          burden for me
but, in the end, it is I who will
know the full weight of the punishment
          (decreed by a howling jury)
          as I walk on
I reach the place
and see that there are others (who know the sacrifice)
who wait for me

are these the nails that I must
feel Father?
driven in over and over again into my very
Spirit and Being until I cry out
in the agony of fire and loss
left to hang for all to see, an exhibit
and, above me, the sign, merely two words
HE BELIEVED

there, hanging on the cross of my life
made of the stuff of my being
I am changed
and my life again
                  becomes my own

Sven,
An excellent write with no answer in sight.
But through the valley of the pain and the blain will emerse the answer of the brain.

I have no answers, only my own humble opinions.

I feel right now after reading this master piece is this ... no ... no ... you must not forever suffer and carry the pain and burdon ... no you should not.

A magnificient write here dear friend!

Have I heard this out loud, Sven Pen?

Love you in your work...thoughtful...always reaching to understand or know something new...or to rediscover a discovery.

Lovely to see you writing in here again. Was wondering what monsterous thing could keep you away.

You could hurt me with your bare hands. You could hurt me using the sharp edge of what you say. JEWEL

Sven - I felt these words very deeply, and believe I know them also. Such as it is, such as it shall be. Walk with peace my friend...

thank you both my friends. . .

littlewing, your comment reminds me of one that we've used around here before. . . "writing is easy, you just sit at a typewriter, and open up a vein". . . or, something like that. . .it means that when you write, you "bleed". . . not blood, mind you. . . but, life. . . and words. . . thanks. . .
