In a dark hall sat a man
Alone at a piano
Slowly, majestically,
The music began to flow

The moon was the only light
Filling the hall with romance
Just think—It was in this place
That they had their last dance—

Hauntingly the canon sang
Sadly a lonely heart beat
A broken heart it was,
Who had come to know defeat

The music accelerated
As the heart sang itself out
Expressing through the music
All of the pain and the doubts

The tears and music flowed
Together becoming a stream
Reaching up heavenward
As a hurting soul’s last dream

But maybe this is where
Romance must always start,
Learning that sometimes love means
Accepting a broken heart,

Dying to dreams of romance
For the greater good of one
Who you love more than your dreams—
And then love has truly begun!

Pachelbel's music is beautiful, and so is the magic you've weaved with this poem. Great one here, Benjamin.

Nice images, nice flowing poetry and then this
But maybe this is where
Romance must always start,
Learning that sometimes love means
Accepting a broken heart,

Dying to dreams of romance
For the greater good of one
Who you love more than your dreams—
And then love has truly begun!
-------- WONDERFUL...

thanks for sharing...

This touched me deeply with its beauty and wisdom.
Very romantic scenery, with a surprise final.

Pachelbel is just this...
and more...
and more so, in moonlight.

This is beautiful, sir...

Thank you.
