Why can't you leave me be
Pushing me to the endless corners
That reside in the back of my mind
And shine with delight to your persistence

Why can't you let me heal
Reopening a swollen wound
That bound by emotional skins
Breaks its stitches to your words

Does it make you feel alive
To put me under this pressure
To make dark choices I can't control
I can't control, although I want to

My heart has grown its eyes
To slowly realise its point
To cry tears to swallow it
Inside the never ending pool

To drown inside the selfish sorrow
And pit itself against tomorrow
Taking all the unfair odds
And still know to look past

To let you become a shadow of memory
