Why,
on this day I should shed a tear
as well as smile upon a dream.

Why,
on this day are you there, not near
to wade the babble of flowing stream

Never answered yet understood
the loss that came so suddenly.
A reaper black in haunting hood
that took a Mom away from me.

Why,
can the hug once felt be missed
as arms now grasp cold thin air.
Of times of happiness, a kiss
where a son could show his care.

I take my heart and share this joy
that God gave for Forty years.
A man now grown, not a boy
who sheds a multitude of tears.

I love you my dearest Mother, I always will...
Till times takes my breath....
My heart is still...

To each their own...
but when that time comes,
she will welcome you
with a wondrous smile
and open arms...

I think, dear Barry, she heard your words and dried your tears. So beautiful!
Thank you.

yeah Barry....I was a bit down on Mother's Day...almost cried a few times but I was around people all day so I could not...I went by the grave and laid flowers down for her...and thought to myself "why?"
