Greed

Basking in the incessant need
To procure a bit more than I
Require or deserve
One of the first acts of human nature
Is greed based - long before speech
Or cognition is attained
An infant continues to suckle at the breast
Long after the pangs of hunger subside
I will take more breaths than I medically need
To survive today
As I did yesterday
And you will do tomorrow
The seven deadly sins are not a ticket to
A firey hell
More appropriately, they are
The blueprint and assurance
That life will continue
Long after I die
With the most toys.

You've got it here.

The self-analysis.

The rebuttal of denial.

And there is the self deprecation, as well as the necessary (and deserved) pat on the back.

I am fast becoming a fan.
