Supple
The softness of your lips
As mine touched them
Wanting to crush you to me
But only gently brushing you
As I bent my head to you.

I felt the sway in you
And my own curve of soul
As I straightened
An apology now ready
To cross my tongue
For being so bold
Forming somewhere
In doubt

then thought of tall grass
And how it lays
in winds too strong
For stiffer trees
and straightens itself
Amid the splinters
Of those things
Broken by passing
Storms

And I
Grew green

Never apologize
for kissing beauty...
instead,
a tip of your hat,
a wink and a smile,
and she will
be forever grateful

Sunshine... thank you for the thoughts..perhaps the wink and smile of me need practice..lol

EA... thank you kindly...though I do not consider myself to be a poet, just a scribbler of thoughts. your kindness is appreciated.

martie.. glad you liked..and a hug back at ya...

Captain, I am about as easy-going and agreeable a person as you will ever meet, BUT, I must disagree with your undervaluation of your poetic talent! You ARE a POET.

EA... thank you. there are some lines i read once about a person who spent a lifetime doing something he enjoyed and meant something t him and in his will, he stated all the remains from his efforts were to be destroyed. The thought being that they represented something once he was gone that he could not control the use of or misuse and they were a part of him,and to misuse them was to make what he knew they were to be a lie...

that is a poet... and me? lol..I am not sure I have the same love for what I write or do... so to me it would seem I am not a poet, but a scribe of some sort that lacks the proper appreciation of the craft.

This is lovely, growing green in seasons....just bending with the wind....but not breaking...

but, I must say I think petrified wood quite pretty...those splinters have souls of their own, too. Sometimes, brokeness has its own green.

But am glad the storms passed in this case.   Lovely images...again....you are on a roll.  Actually, you never stop and BTW, angels don't lie. Linda is right!

Hugs, Pat

funny how the humble lowly grass prevails against its stronger counterparts

your ending lines were rather sweet and endearing

i'm not too concerned about your identity though, as long as you write on!
