The wind strolls beside me
Pushing along the light debris
On my back and through my hair,
The clouds gather on the end,
The sky’s edge horizon,
Plotting some disturbing air
As the sun peeks out below
Then hides in the cloud flow
As some sky tries to brighten,
Trying so hard to become light
To come from the deep of night
More clouds come rushing in.
A bus stops just up the way
Convoying workers into the day
From home and sleepy dreams;
The rain begins in earnest pour
As I pause at a canopied door
And watch the forming streams.
The wind follows me yet
Now blowing to make me wet
So I step out into the lane
Accepting the wind and rain.

Sometimes we have to suck it up
and step into the storm.

Well done, Sir...
