~*~
Love is like a Spring flower garden
that must be tended with care
For it to thrive as it should
to not fail from neglect of repair

Love has to be planted there
within the hearts of two
Then if the couple desires it to grow
there are ways for them this to do

The love as flowers should be treated gently
for very tender are they
Always needing a loving touch
for them to endure and stay

Roots of the plants will get crowded
if weeds are allowed to stay
Like cares of this life can hinder love
if we allow them to along this way

So just as the Spring flowers grow
from the kiss of the morning dew
Our love will grow also
with tender touches from me and you

We will always think of loves fragility
as along our path we go
And know the two of us have the ability
to nurture our love and help it to grow
~*~

Ethel,

"So just as the Spring flowers grow

Our love will grow also
with tender touches from me and you

We will always think of loves fragility
as along our path we go
And know the two of us have the ability
to nurture our love and help it to grow"

These are lovely words.

Enjoyed the sentiment and truth.

Well written, and utterly true.

And a side note: If all rhymes in our poetry here at PIP looked like these --

We will always think of loves fragility
as along our path we go
And know the two of us have the ability
to nurture our love and help it to grow

-- I'd read more of them.

(smiles) Oh Ethel, this is so very true, sweet friend, and I know Gary is always going to set butterflies flittering in your garden and kissing the buttercups and tulips always and have fountains pouring water for all your blessing flowers to drink merrily! (kiss on cheek) Yay, gardens need tending and love is always the way to go, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ethel, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Ethel, this is a very lovely poems, and the words ring so true....

Love is a garden in which we have planted seeds of affection. The way love grows would depend on how we tend the garden.

We do not have to have a variety of flowers, or bushes of roses. That's going to be too distracting. If it's OUR garden, even a single stalk of Sunflower would look just as beautiful.

Ethel, you and Gary are very lucky to have each other and to know the meaning of a true love.
