How Lucky

I’ve been trying to cross bridges
that went up in flames
I’ve been waiting in the desert
for the clouds to rain

I’ve been searching in the vastness
of my weary mind
I’ve been looking for direction
with eyes that are blind

Inspiration’s destiny
can be hard to locate
Vision and enlightenment
are tough to recreate

All we really need are folks
that gather in one place
People who have rhyme and
reason and help to embrace

A spirit of support from L.A.
N.Y. Illinois
Where they gather daily
for a little bit of joy

And from many other countries
all around the earth
They come far and wide to give
each other some self worth

Human beings all united in
a common cause
Where some still believe in
dreams like Dorothy in Oz

Where they share the darker
side that sometimes won’t depart
Where they try to bring some beauty
from inside their heart

Where a sonnet filled with passion
gets you through the night
Or a poem about the sunrise
helps you see the light

Funny how our paths can
cross and bring us to this spot
Where compassion and regard
still mean a very lot

I’m so glad I found this place
where so many believe
How lucky am I to find
Passions In Poetry!

Thanks everyone for reaching out
and extending your hand...

I really appreciate it!
Richy

I hope you don't mind me sending this around for a good read Richy - this is about the nicest dedication to Ron's home I think I have seen in a long, long, time.  Beautifully done. By the way if you want to see how many people worldwide visit this site a day, see that cute little colored box at the extreme bottom of the page?  That tells you the amount of people stopping in to say hello each day, amazing isn't it, that they come from all over the world to the main site, and here to see us.

I've been here longer
than my numbers may
imply;
but how lucky I am
to have
caught your sigh.
Poetry in Passions,
a home of friends,
the circle keeps growing,
may it never end.

This is the place where the writers dwell... a place where souls like ours can be set free. We do not live in ridicule here by people who do not understand the need we have to pen our heart's agonies and desires.  We can be who we are, and others listen and care enough to comfort us in sorrow and share in our joys.

I love this place, Richy. You have no idea what PIP has done for me.  Who knew so many beautiful people could gather in one place?  Now that I do know, I will never go.

Thanks for being one of those beautiful people,
-Patricia

Richy:

nice job - you said it
you know I have bled here so many times
just to be lifted up by the words of
another -a pat on the back - a smile - a kiss -

and then fell down again just to get right back up
amazing xxoo

Oh yes, Richy, we are all lucky to have found this place. As you can probably tell, I love it here, too. In the few months I've been here, I have made many friends. Everyone is so nice and always right there to give support when we're down and to laugh with us when we are up. It amazes me that so many people can get together in one place and get along so well.
Thank you for this. May I keep it?

It’s funny how when you most want to express your gratitude to such a wonderful group of people, as are in this community, your mind clams up...

And you are left fumbling around for the right words...

What really can I say, but Thank You...

Thank all of you... not just for all of your wonderful comments...

But thank you... for just being who you are...

A wonderful group of people, who fill so many basic needs, for so many...

Our longing to be heard...

And our hunger to feel accepted...

Our yearning to be understood...

And our desire to feel needed ...

You should all be very proud of who you are...

And you should all be very proud of what you have, and continue to accomplish here...

A place like this... simply should not be taken for granted...

It really is a gift...

And so again...

I Thank You!
Richy

Should read: "our" instead of "are". Thought you would want to know.

What an absolutely delightful poem. I haven't had the pleasure of reading your work before but am so delighted that you are here at Passions. I do believe that you have found it as wonderful a home as I have.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.
