The Senses

Can you hear me
even if I don't make a sound?
Can you see me
even if I'm nowhere to be found?
Can you feel me
even if I've left your side?
Can you smell me
even though my fragrance has died?

Will you call me
even though I may not hear?
Will you look for me
even though I may not be near?
Will you touch me
even though my body's turned cold?
Will you inhale my being
till the day that you grow old?

Naome

Decaflame,

Thank you for you comment.

I wrote this today, and when I started it I had no idea how it would end.

It has been almost two years since I have written anything and visiting here has given me inspiration again.  Thank you

Sincerely,
quatro

Naome, the one sense you left out, “touch”...

Was what this poem did to me...

Such important questions that we all ask ourselves, and wonder about...

I really enjoyed it...

I hope you start writing again!

Your voice has some very meaningful things to say...

The Best Of Luck,

Richy

Richy,

Thank you so much. I'm thrilled to know that I have "touched" you even though we are not near.

Sincerely,
Naome
