something of a paradox,
to say I can't stand this.
still being here
to say it.

thinking so as not to cry;
Theorising downfall.

with a loosely-held pen,
stratching the surface
of a page torn up
in disgust.

half a mile from nowhere fast
two decades from myself.

Yes, living in the past. How it can have changed the future, and we stand powerless, but to try to carry on, it ever there.
