Early the orange-red rise exposes
mysteries obscure in a frigid scene.
Early, dawn will make love to the earth;
a mosaic in butter, crimson, and sultry aquamarine.

Glinting from the barren bowl,
sprouting like a crazed maze on the east hill,
whispers of pleasure unfold
to the crowning bloom of the daffodil.

Early the dawn arouses those sleeping and birds play
to tree treasures for housing while singing;
harmoniously their symphony unconducted but for
the sway of bare limb; buds bringing.

Stretching greedily the moist confines of fertility,
fingers of famished roots establish their ground.
Staking claim to replenish the soil, new growth renews,
darkened spirits thrive into a lush surround.

This is a rewrite of the poem "Spring"
written in 1999.

When you think you have heard it all,
listen more closely.

Simply lovely. Chris

What you describe is strikingly beautiful, yet simple... just like poetry should be.  It quite reminds me of the work of one William Wordsworth.  If only I'd ever seen such an image myself...

You have a marvelous way with words... the comparisons, descriptions, phrasing... all so perfect in this, it really made me smile.     Thank you for this.

I am happy you smiled, Parasite, for it is worth a thousand words...
and one BIG THANK YOU seems insignificant
but it is certainly heartfelt.

(smiles) Awwwwwwww, I just love this, sweet friend, spring is just too beautiful to compose in a symphony so better just let everyone sing as they are, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Dorene, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
