Slow Burn

did you know
that when you
remove your hand
from my skin
your warmth remains
you think
you are a shadow
but you
are a flame
kindling me
in a slow burn

I know that feeling,

A burn that only leaves scars on the soul
but scars of love and passion are not always bad.
