My muse harassed me
all night long.
She made me toss and turn.
‘bout 3 AM she woke me up
and with my fingers she did burn
these words on this ‘puter,
not parchment this time,
for her head was hurting
and she wanted to rhyme,
though I begged her please
to just leave me be
‘cause I wasn’t awake enough
for her danged poetry!
But I had no choice
(She is stronger than I)
and when I refuse her
she just makes me cry.
So up I went
to this blasted keyboard,
no amount of pleading
could stop this release
of her pent up feelings
emoting all over these keys.
So please be kind
when you read these dribbles,
it really isn’t me you see,
it’s my pestering muse,
my Sister Scribbles.
