The music in my head defines my place in the universe.
Booming break beats and smooth melodies reverberate between my temples.
Love ballads accompany me in my moments of silent reflection.
A lonesome blues riff boards the train.
And transforms with stunning eloquence as my stop approaches.
When I sink into the sidewalk the pace of the hi-hat quickens.
My heart is the kick my footsteps the snare.
The crash cymbal awakens me from my ever persistent day-mares.
As the Reggae pulse steadies my pace.
When I see her , "her" being my vision of beauty , a symphony erupts and shortens my breath.
The strings represent my stubbornness.
The horns manifest in her magnetism.
The percussion is the glue.
The life force that brings us together.
When these elements collide we will know our calling.
For now our imaginations perform their solos.
And the jukebox of our memories plays on

Hello again!

I loved the links between music and feelings/thoughts/emotions etc. Very clever and well written. The connections didn't seem forced at all and everything correlates (sp?) very well.

Well done, and hope to read more soon.

Ahhh...music, the universal language.  It transcends barriers of race, gender, culture.  It appeals to the emotions born of the heart.  It is indeed our greatest accompaniest through our journey here.  The cliche rings so true...Music is, indeed, the soundtrack of our lives.

From one music lover to another...Welcome to Passions.  I hope you find the beauty and inspiration here that I have found.

Looking forward to more,
-Patricia

Welcome!  This is a wonderfully creative poem.  I have music in my head, too, and would never have thought to express it so.  Thanks!
