read by a gull

engraved in lost wood

engulfed in the fire
     of sunset...

                      the library of sand

will teach you
          of the womb

                        look up from your
                      splayed hourglass hand
                  and smile at your
          Mother

Surf sounds
                        filling ears
                                          matching beat of
                                                                     heart sounds

in,

out,

driving forces

                            smooth the sands....

Yesterday is ash, tomorrow is smoke; only today does the fire burn.
