First

Awake! Awake, sweet dawn, divine and fresh
Let flowers taste your scent and breathe your breath
Unspoiled by the blazing summer light
Untouched by sounds that drown the still of night

I’ll walk into the colors yet unborn
Before the sun erupts into the morn
I’ll savor fragrances while wet with dew
In indigo of dark before the blue

The palette of my eye will paint the scene
My foot will step upon a field of green
Before the wildflowers can arise
I’ll lift the yellow petals with my eyes

The sun awakes, as eye of dappled fawn
But I was first to breathe this lovely dawn

Liz, it's always so good to read your calming, inspiring pieces.  And this is gorgeous!  I especially love the line: "The sun awakes, as eye of dappled fawn."

Thank you for being a poet.  I'm saving this~

Take care,
Melissa~

Extraordinary!  I breathed this in and the imagery so terrific I could see it all.

Til breath of dawn, that brief eternity
God's sacred Realm embraces only me.

You love dawn as much as I do, Lizzy...
