~*A Tale - Seafoam & Mermen*~

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

She'd walked along the shore all night, barefoot in the sand -
She'd stopped to build a castle tall, alas it wouldn't stand.
Her long hair blowing in the breeze, with seafoam at her feet -
Her dress tail wet with salt, she decided to retreat...

She turned to walk back to her car, she'd been there half the night -
Walking, searching out her soul, but something wasn't right.
The ocean seemed to beckon her, but she did not know why -
'Twas as if the waters wanted her, & she could feel their cry...

With one last glance back to the sea, she started then to go -
Brushing sand off of her feet, she heard a man cry "No..."
The voice came from the waters deep, within a swelling wave -
Through squinted eyes, she looked & saw the signal that he gave...

Just below the salty surface, light like ember glowed -
Lighting up the area, and then this figure showed.
The upper body of a man rose up from waters blue -
With arms stretched out toward her there, a breeze between them blew...

His eyes of deepest ocean green, seemed to pull her near -
He smiled then, a handsome smile, she walked to him - no fear.
She stood there at the waters edge, the seafoam swirling round -
Something magic in the air, like music, yet no sound...

He beckoned her to come to him, she dove in without thought -
And swam out fast to meet him - all her ponderings forgot.
She broke the surface, took a breath & there before her eyes -
Was a dark & brazen merman, but it came as no surprise...

She had heard of such a creature, yet her eyes had never seen -
His features so magnificent, so handsome in moonbeam.
A soft light on his glistening skin, his eyes so sultry deep -
The way his eyes looked through her soul, nearly made her weep...

Why would such a creature fair, want to summon her?
Was he the one meant for her love, or just a messenger?
He took her in his arms, held her tight & kissed her lips -
Then lightly traced across her eyes, her mouth, with fingertips...

She'd never known a man so strong, who touched so tenderly -
And just her luck, the one she found, lived deep beneath the sea!
She smiled at the thought of it, but knew that he would stay -
As long as he could, here with her, to be with her this way...

He finally spoke, his voice so deep, lingered in her ears -
He said, "I've watched you many times, I've swam here in your tears..."
"You've nearly cried this ocean full, I've tasted all your pain,
I've breathed the emptiness you feel, it falls on me like rain."

"I know you come here often, and I've watched you from afar..."
"You've walked my shore so many times - wondering who you are."
With that, he kissed her lips again, her face in both his hands -
~At last, a man who knows her heart & truly understands...~

He said, "Swim with me here tonight, I'll take you far below,
into waters warm & heavenly & lit with ember glow..."
"I'll show you depths you've never known, here deep within my sea -
Be with me now, complete me, we'll make love aquatically..."

His smile broad, assuring her, she gave him thus, her hand -
She glanced back o'er her shoulder - one last look toward the land.
He gave her breath, his mouth on hers, his touch pure ecstasy -
With moonlight in their eyes - they disappeared beneath the sea...

Sorry, this was mine from long ago here at Passions, and I wanted to share it again since I've been writing along this line again lately. I apologize for it being so long, but there was NO WAY to shorten it. I hope you enjoy the tale!
