With her look, it’s so easy to see
Mama Robin’s at nest with four,
So tiptoe, please, ever quietly
My welcome mat’s at my back door!

(Smiles) I'm usually one to sneak in through the back door anyway, so I feel right at home, but very glad to read here that your heart is with comforting Mama Robin. Good Job. (Smiles)

Can you blame her for wanting to be near to Sunshine? Clever little bird she is!
Lovely poem girl.

Anyone who literally gives their front door to our fine feathered friends is a friend indeed! (I have several occupied nests at various places on my house. They especially love the tops of the pillars under the eaves)

I find a love of letting nature unfold as it should in your story of this bird family.  I think it a neat challenge to keep us informed, yet let your own gifts of wording come through.  KJ

Sunshine,
You'd have to be bird brained not to like this rhyme and I am definitely NOT that!
loved it

Nice picture and poem as well. I have a bird nest in my front portico and I am watching 2 little ones getting ready to fly away. As long as the welcome mats out, how about extending it to a little blonde birdie, my friend, the inkedgoddess who is gone but wont be forgotten!!!

Priceless photo, lovely poem! It surely is a Mother's Day Masterpiece.

Great shots...I have them nesting in my tree in front but everytime I get near they fly away...so I am trying not to disturb them.

Well, this pair, and the "other" pair, are quite special to me...for they are nesting in the grapevine wreath at my front door; and on the trellis on my back porch.  Luckily, I have one more "back" door...that being off the small deck.  But be sure to wipe your shoes, because this leads directly into my dining room!

You've all been great to go through this mothering process with me.  You don't even want to know how many times I have been at the front door, peeking through the diamonds to see if she's fairing well, and to listen for the first chirps of the newborn...

soon...soon....

This is just too precious - look at Momma bird peeking out!! Oh, I can hardly wait!
We should be having baby sparrows in one of our
birdhouses quite soon. So, let's all be very, very quiet!

hugs, Chris
